Ballet classes for children at Stejarii Country Club
An introductory ballet programme for children aged 3 and over, led by Claudia Ristea.
Starting in October, Stejarii Country Club introduces ballet classes for children aged 3+, led by Claudia Ristea and held in the Gymnastics Studio.
Ballet is one of the most beautiful ways for children to discover movement, music and self-expression. Adapted to their age and stage of development, the classes gradually introduce children to the basic elements of ballet, in an environment where discipline and focus naturally blend with the joy of dancing.
Through exercises focused on posture, coordination, balance, mobility and rhythm, children learn to better understand and control their bodies, while developing graceful movement and greater confidence in their own abilities.

Frequently Asked Questions
From what age can a child join?
Ballet classes are open to children from the age of 3. Groups are organised by age and level: Mini Ballet for children aged 3 – 7 and Ballet Initiation for children over 7.
Is previous experience required?
No. The classes are also suitable for children discovering ballet for the first time. The exercises are introduced gradually and adapted to each child’s age and level.
How do I choose the right group?
The group is chosen according to the child’s age and experience. If you are unsure which option is suitable, the Stejarii Country Club team can provide all the information you need before registration.
What clothing is required?
For the first classes we recommend comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement: a leotard or fitted T-shirt, leggings or tights and ballet shoes or non-slip socks. Long hair should be tied back, and accessories and jewellery should be avoided during class.
If a standard outfit is set for the group at a later stage, parents will receive all the necessary information from the coordinator.
Does every child need ballet shoes?
For the first sessions, a child may take part in non-slip socks, if this is confirmed by the coordinator. For regular participation in the programme, ballet shoes suited to the child’s age and type of class may be recommended.
How long does a class last?
Mini Ballet classes, for children aged 3 – 7, last 50 minutes. Ballet Initiation classes, for children over 7, last 60 minutes.
How many classes a week can a child attend?
The programme includes classes on Fridays and Sundays. Depending on the pass chosen, a child can attend one or two classes per week, subject to availability.
How many children are there in a group?
Groups are kept small so that every child receives attention and guidance. The Mini Ballet group can include a maximum of 10 children, and the Ballet Initiation group a maximum of 15 children.
Can children who are not Stejarii Country Club members take part?
Yes. Ballet classes are available both to members’ children and to children who are not members of Stejarii Country Club. Prices differ according to member or non-member status.
Can parents watch the class?
To support the children’s focus and the smooth running of the activity, classes take place without parents in the studio. The team will give parents all the details regarding access and dropping off and collecting the children.
What do children learn in the classes?
Children gradually discover the basic positions and movements, along with exercises for posture, coordination, balance, mobility and rhythm. The classes also help develop focus, discipline, expressiveness and self-confidence.
What happens in the first class?
The first session is dedicated to becoming familiar with the studio, the coordinator, the music and the types of movement. The exercises are introduced in a friendly way, adapted to each child’s pace.
What if a child is shy or needs time to settle in?
Every child adapts at their own pace. The first classes focus on familiarisation, encouragement and building an enjoyable relationship with movement and music. The coordinator will support the child’s gradual integration into the group.
Can a child take part if they have a medical condition?
Parents must inform the team before registration about any condition, injury or relevant medical recommendation. In certain situations, a doctor’s approval may be required before participation.
Where do the classes take place?
Classes are held in the Gymnastics Studio at Stejarii Country Club, Strada Jandarmeriei 14A, Bucharest.
What should a child bring to class?
The child should wear the recommended outfit, have their hair tied back if applicable, and bring a bottle of water. We recommend that personal items are labelled with the child’s name.
What happens if a child misses a class?
Whether a session can be made up depends on the programme rules, the pass chosen and the places available in the other groups. For details, parents are invited to contact the Stejarii Country Club Concierge.
