Swimming

There is no doubt, swimming is the best sport for those who want to combine sustained effort with relaxation. The indoor Olympic pool that you will discover at Stejarii Country Club offers the best conditions to safely practice your favorite sport under the close supervision of the Club’s trainers.

The benefits of swimming are based on the fact that this type of exercise trains all the muscles groups and the entire cardiovascular system and helps you feel stronger and healthier.

Reasons to choose swimming

1.Can be practiced regardless of age

Swimming is a sport recommended for both children and adults, regardless of their age, because in water body weight no longer applies pressure on the joints and bone skeleton. The body shocks that result of the shore-based shooter movements are mitigated by the mass of the water and so the risks of injury are minimal. Thus, the pool is the ideal place to train your muscles or painful joints, especially if you suffer from arthritis or your body is not very flexible. At the same time, the blood vessels of the skin narrow when we enter the water and dilate when leaving the pool, having an active role in the prevention and control of varicose veins and arteritis.

2.Improves relaxation

Taking regular swimming sessions stimulates the secretion of endorphins, which are responsible for your overall well-being. Swimming trainings also provide you a state of relaxation similar to the one of Yoga classes due to muscle stretching and rhythmic breathing techniques.

3.Burns calories quickly and safely

One hour of swimming burns as much calories as running, but without affecting the joints or the bone system. Swimming keeps body weight under control, the number of calories burned being determined by the physical constitution of each person, but also by the swimming style. Butterfly style burns 150 calories every 10 minutes, back swimming 80 calories and brass style 60 calories.
